About NaijaElects

NaijaElects is a free, independent, non-partisan public-opinion platform built to track Nigerian voter sentiment ahead of the 2027 general elections. We combine a live anonymous poll with original explainers so journalists, researchers, civic groups, and everyday voters can see where public opinion stands — and understand what the numbers mean.

Why NaijaElects exists

Nigeria’s 2027 general elections — covering the presidency, governorships, and state assemblies — will shape the country for years. Public debate often moves faster than clear information. Rumour fills the gaps when people cannot see transparent, accessible opinion data or plain-language guides to how elections work.

NaijaElects exists to narrow that gap. Any eligible Nigerian can record an anonymous opinion in under a minute and immediately see aggregate patterns by office, state, age band, and issue. Alongside the dashboard, we publish original articles on voter registration, election mechanics, major issues, and timely developments in the 2027 cycle.

Our principles

Independence

NaijaElects is operated independently. We are not affiliated with INEC, any political party, any candidate, or any government body. We do not accept payment to promote or suppress any political interest, and we do not endorse anyone.

Privacy

We never collect names, phone numbers, PVC numbers, NIN, BVN, or exact addresses. Every response is anonymous, and only aggregate results are published. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Transparency

We are open about how our polls work and honest about their limits. Online opinion polls are a directional signal of public sentiment — not official results and not predictions. Our methodology page explains quality controls and known biases in plain language.

Useful content first

The site is built around the poll and original articles. Advertising may appear to help fund hosting and development; it does not decide which stories we write or how aggregates are calculated. See our terms of use.

Editorial standards

Blog posts and explainers are written to help readers understand elections, public opinion, and civic processes. We aim to:

• Use plain language and define technical terms when needed;
• Separate opinion aggregates from official INEC processes;
• Update articles when material facts change (timetables, court rulings, registration windows);
• Correct substantive errors when they are brought to our attention.

We do not publish fabricated “results,” deepfake claims presented as fact, or paid political promotions disguised as analysis.
